NEW APRIL 2025.  'The Railway Photographer' was a quarterly magazine produced in the West Country, edited in Weston-Super-Mare and printed in the City of Wells. Volume 1 No. 1 came out in Winter 1950-1. 

Its glossy pages were small (about 12 cm by 18 cm) but were well filled.  There were articles and of course several good black and white photographs to enjoy, though inevitably the captions go into details of camera, film and settings used. Some of the illustrations are full-page ones.

Issue No. 1 had 24 pages. Issue No. 2 for Spring 1951 contained 36 pages of thicker better-quality paper, with a coloured front cover. Appropriately it included an article and two photos by that advocate of pictorial railway magazines, G H Lake.

It is believed that issue No. 3 never materialised, so what you have here is the complete run of this short-lived and quite rare publication.
