In this section of the website, you can find some illustrated articles, as a taster to understanding the full history of the GER. These include:
- Liverpool Street - exploring two photos of Liverpool Street and its Yard.
- Bethnal Green - showing the grimy nature of the intensive suburban service.

- Royal Agricultural Show - celebration of the Royal Agricultural Show in Norwich for which the GER built two new stations.
- Dolly Grey - a classic photo of GER 1035, one of the later T19s, in photographic grey and which was consequently nicknamed "Dolly Grey".
- Non-Stop to Cromer - the story of the development of the non-stop service to Cromer in the 1890s and the people involved.
- Whittlesford - a typical photo from the GER era of the Whittlesford station staff, even down to the delivery driver.
- Ilford Sidings - showing the extensive trackwork in place in support of suburban services in 1911.
- Ilford Flyover - development of the flyover from May 1939 to 1947 showing half-built piers while trains pass nearby.
- Wolferton - Famously the closest station to Sandringham, showing this immaculately-kept station prior to its closure.
