CH.DL Clearing House Map of Eastern England 1917 as a Download
NEW APRIL 2020 (replacing MP040). This will give you three PDF files to download. The first is the Clearing House map of Eastern England for 1917 in colour, suitable for zooming-in. It covers an area from the North Norfolk coast down to the Thames in London, and includes the whole of the M&GN lines: to the south it reaches to Marlow and Didcot; to the west Leicester, Rugby and Oxford; to the north Spalding, Grantham and Nottingham. It has two small insert panels, showing greater detail in the neighbourhood of Peterborough and Leicester.
The second comprises extracts from a similar map depicting the GN&GE Joint from just before Sleaford northwards in 1918. It extends to Doncaster and a short way beyond - as far as Wath, Hemsworth and Crowle.
The third, dated 1914, covers part of London south of the Thames. It also incorportes some of the London Tilbury and Southend around Purfleet, Tilbury and Thames Haven. Its coverage the other side of the river stretches from Ealing, Richmond and Epsom to Queenborough Pier and Sittingbourne.
