RH066 The London and Blackwall Railway
NEW MARCH 2019. The Railway Magazine for May 1927 included an article on the London and Blackwall Railway, and that is what this file contains. It provided an historical account, with a list of its locomotives and a description of the train services from the early days to what was then the present date. There are three photographs of Blackwall station (including one showing the river frontage) and one of the LNER's Royal Mint Street goods station which was formerly the Minories terminus.
The writer quotes descriptions given in earlier days by Whishaw, and it may be helpful to point out that Wishaw's full 1842 account is available as File RH050.
The file will be available to download as soon as payment has been made. You go to your account and click on ‘Downloads’. New customers create an account as they place their order.
