SG039 Resignalling of Breydon Viaduct 1928
NEW MAY 2014. A reprint from the October 1928 issue of the Railway Engineer. Its title was 'Resignalling of Breydon Viaduct, Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway'. The heading then went on to state 'Two Signal Cabins dispensed with on Introduction of Track Circuits and other Improvements'.
The article included a diagrammatic map of the track right from Yarmouth Beach station all the way through until the line from Yarmouth South Town joined it on its way to Lowestoft. There was a photograph of the viaduct itself.
Four period advertisements from that magazine are also featured in the file, each relating to a company based in our region. As a bonus we have added a page of notes, explanations and comments written by one of the Society's signalling specialists.
