RH070 LT&SR Agreements with the East & West India Dock Company
NEW APRIL 2020. This is an eighty-page leather-bound book describing the agreements between the London Tilbury and Southend Railway and the India Docks Company, covering the period from 1883 to 1908. The full text of each agreement is there, and so too are five full-page colour plans of the Whitechapel Goods Depot.
It describes the agreements as relating to the conveyance of traffic between London and the Tilbury Dock; the Commercial Road Goods Depot and Warehouse; the development of Tilbury Dock; and rates, fares, charges and other matters.
The principal agreement is dated 1883. Other agreements are from 1883, 1886, 1887, 1888, 1894, 1900 and 1908. There is a comprehensive index.
