NEW DECEMBER 2024. The Railway World first appeared during 1952.  It was not a new publication, but instead was the magazine 'Railways' (which had been founded by G H Lake in 1939, all copies of which are included in our package GHL.DL), given a new name.

It came out each month, and you will get the issues from 1952 to the end of 1971 - two hundred and forty copies in total. The official indexes for the volumes are included where available - eighteen of the twenty here. We have compiled a 33-page list of the main contents of every issue, to help with browsing – you can see this HERE. We have also organised a facility to carry out a speedy word-search which trawls through every copy of the magazine plus some extra bonus files.

Those extra files include a complete Railway World Annual, summer timetables for the preserved railways of the UK, an outline history of the Railway World and information about a little-known magazine which bore the same title back in the 1890s.
