TW071: LNER Working Timetable for the GE area Section D, Summer 1930.
NEW JULY 2021. This is from the LNER working timetable to run from 7 July to 21 September 1930 covering its Eastern Area, which equates to the old GER. We thank John Smart of the LNER Society for making it available from his personal collection, so it now becomes accessible to all who are interested.
It comes in four parts, none of which relate to the suburban services. This is Section D (the other three parts are available as TW068, TW069 and TW070 - the quickest way to find them is to scroll right down in the 'Related Products' list below). You can also purchase all four sections at a discounted price: to do that you should read about them here, then go to TW072.
The principal contents of this Section are the branch lines off the Colchester main line. Its 60 pages include tables for Woodham Ferrers & Maldon East; Witham & Maldon East; Witham & Braintree; Kelvedon & Tollesbury; Haughley & Laxfield; Marks Tey, Sudbury & Bury; Sudbury, Haverhill & Cambridge; Chappel & Haverhill; Colchester to Clacton, Walton & Brightlingsea; Manningtree & Harwich; Bentley & Hadleigh; Mellis & Eye; Ipswich & Felixstowe; Wickham Market & Framlingham; Saxmundham & Aldeburgh; Beccles & Lowestoft Central; Beccles, Tivetshall & Norwich; Yarmouth & Lowestoft via Gorleston; Yarmouth & Lowestoft via Somerleyton; and Forncett & Wymondham.
Details of many special workings follow, including the river boats from Harwich to Ipswich, Shotley and Felixstowe. Shunting turns are listed. So too are all signal boxes on the lines covered, with their times of opening. You can see the full list of contents HERE.
We have provided bookmarks to the main sections. The file will be available to download as soon as payment has been made. You go to your account and click on ‘Downloads’. New customers create an account as they place their order.
