RG038: Rambles in Norfolk, LNER 1930's.
NEW MARCH 2021. 'Rambles in Norfolk' was published by the LNER. It is undated, but appears to be from the 1930's.
The purpose was to suggest walks from country stations. Its 72 pages contain twelve of them, which you can see listed HERE. Cheap day ticket prices from Norwich are quoted.
For each walk you get a description of the area, a map of the walk and instructions for the route. Footpaths are sometimes used, but most of the time you are taken along what were then quiet country lanes but which may not be so ideal for a stroll nowadays! The text is illustrated with black-and-white line drawings.
Folded in at the back is a map which depicts Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. This shows the railway lines prominently in red, each with its LNER timetable number. They are superimposed on thinner black lines which are the bus routes marked with their service numbers.
