RE031 Energisation of the Docklands Light Railway at Stratford 1986
NEW NOVEMBER 2014. The Docklands Light Railway was electrified at 750V d.c. on the third rail principle. On 18 August 1986 their line from Bow to Stratford went 'live', preparatory to the full opening in 1987. This is a typescript document of 14 pages (one of which is blank) intended for BR staff whose work might take them on to that line.
It includes a desctiption of the operating systems of the DLR and definitions of terms ('guard boarding', 'paddle' and the like). There are full safety instructions, and the isolation procedures in the event of an emergency are covered. The final page is a diagrammatic map of the section between Bow church and Stratford station.
