Location: Richmond, Date: c2001. Class 170/2 and Class 313 : 313322
Anglia class 170 Turbostar at platform 3 and Class 313122 at platform 4, Richmond (not Kew as described), with pre-refurbished District Line D(78) Stock (not LRT as described) in platform 7. Guard Silverwood states the 170 was diverted by engineering works. Between May 2000 and September 2002 Anglia's then new Class 170 Turbostars were used on the Norich to Basingstoke service utilising the short-lived Crosslink. A contemporary witness recalls that a blockage between Stanes and Virginia Water caused a Turbostar already on the North London Line to be diverted to Richmond, where it remained in a bay for a couple of days as the units weren't officially authorised between there and Acton.
