Canfield Part 2 was created by Nigel Seaman (Nigel Seaman)
The down platform looking east towards the signal box. Rather hidden, the station building is based on the GERS's Cressing building drawing.
The main signal box, up siding, carriage siding, and a short engine road and coaling stage. A J65 (only later, not then!) waits. The signalman leans out, with red and green flags, his arms worked from the frame!
Looking eastwards past the box and engine road. Each platform has its own starting signal. Ground "dods" control shunting movements.
Looking back at the town - sourcing usable East Anglian building images is a subject for another topic perhaps. A canal creeps into the scene - along with a mysterious extension of the District Line!
The line sweeps eastwards, back to single line and past its up outer home with repeat arm and down advanced starter on a shared post. The train is on very foreign territory, but LTSR moments are permitted, as are LNER and even BR ones.
A small overbridge with an (out-of-period?) motor delivery lorry and bleak fields beyond.
And finally the line reaches Rayning Station, with its short platform, inter-war passengers, and a convenient overbridge to end the scene.
To be continued with Low Street goods yard and its engine shed.....
