TW052 Supplement to Appendix to Working Timetables, LNER 1928
NEW MARCH 2016. Dated 1 July 1928, its full title is the No.1 Supplement to the Appendix to the Working Timetables (Southern Area). Such an Appendix applies the general rules and regulations to specific locations all over the railway, and this Supplement provided changes and updates to the then-current 1927 Appendix.
It covers the whole of the Southern Area of the LNER and arranges its entries by section - first the Great Central, then the Great Eastern then the Great Northern. It also describes rule changes such as the detailed procedure for a signalman who sees that an engine's headlights are out after sunset, amendments to permanent speed restrictions and about the new turntable at Kings Lynn.
The scans come from an original document which is now very fragile. A crease on one page could not safely be removed for scanning: it obscures some of the text, but the meaning is nevertheless still apparent. The file is word-searchable. It will be available to download as soon as payment has been made. You go to your account and click on ‘Downloads’. New customers create an account as they place their order.
