NEW APRIL 2016. The title is 'Ticket Examiners' Handbook', published by the British Railways Board in December 1980 and given their No. BR25952. It consists of a blue plastic folder containing 194 loose-leaved pages, a few of which are blanks.
The sections in Part 1 include Route Availability, Ticket Types and Validities; Ticket Styles; Railcard Schemes and Authorities for Reduced Fares; Examination and Collection of Tickets; Excess Fares; Payment for Tickets; Ticket Frauds and Travelling Irregularities; Accompanied Animals and Articles; Staff Travel; and Maximum and Minimum Charges and Miscellaneous Charges. Several tickets, passes and travel documents are illustrated - in colour where appropriate.
Part 2 has a Catalogue of Ticket Nips/Marks and Weekly Season Ticket Codes; Byelaws; and Conditions of Carriage of Passengers and their Luggage.
