RR070: Amendments to the GER Rule Book 1st January 1923.
NEW SEPTEMBER 2021. This book, produced by the Great Eastern Railway, is entitled 'Alterations and Additions to the Book of Rules and Regulations'. It is dated 23 December 1922.
As well as including a few changes that had already been made in the recent past, most of the amendments were due to come into effect on Monday 1st January 1923 - in other words, when the GER was to become part of the LNER. It is therefore one of the final publications of the GER, illustrating the transition to LNER governance.
Entries were of the form "Rule 193. Clause (a) amended to read as under:...", followed by "Clause (b) of Rule 193 remains unaltered." To make full sense of the material, therefore, you will also require the existing rule book of the GER. We offer this as File RR050, which you will find HERE.
The copy scanned is a 72-page pocket book which is possibly missing its covers. The front page has been torn and crumpled, but nearly all the text on that and on its reverse side is present: the first two thumbnail picures show these. All the rest of the pages are complete.
The file is word-searchable and has bookmarks. It will be available to download as soon as payment has been made. You go to your account and click on ‘Downloads’. New customers create an account as they place their order.
