RH090: The Railway Centenary, The Locomotive Magazine 1925.
NEW APRIL 2021. In 1925 the railways of Britain celebrated their Centenary. To mark the occasion the Locomotive Magazine published this as one of their supplements.
The large book consists of 124 pages of text, four colour pages, sixteen pages of back and white illustrations - each a montage made up of many small photographs mostly of locomotives - and forty pages of advertisements.
It is very different in style to the one produced by the LNER, available as File RH089. The Locomotive Magazine has provided a series of articles describing in turn the constituent companies of the LNER, the LMS, the SR, the GWR and the Underground. The main emphasis is on the historical development of each system and on the locomotives they produced. The book concludes with a brief account of railway signals over that period. The list of contents is available HERE.
The file is word-searchable and has bookmarks. It will be available to download as soon as payment has been made. You go to your account and click on ‘Downloads’. New customers create an account as they place their order.
