SG042 Audley End signalling instructions 1908
NEW SEPTEMBER 2014. Instruction No. 423 issued by the GER on 19 March 1908 to lay down signalling regulations at Audley End station. The headings are Down Main Advance Starting Signal; Ground Locking Frame at the Refuge Siding on the Up Side of the Railway; Code of Signals; Telephone between Signal Box and Locking Frame Hut; Shunting on Main Lines; and Special Precautions to be taken in Foggy Weather and During Falling Snow. There is no layout diagram included.
The original document comprised a single large sheet. Because the document was in poor condition and would not scan clearly, the entire text was typed up anew on to two A4 pages. As a bonus, in the file these are preceded by a page with an introduction by our signalling specialist.
