RH045 Transport and the 1953 Floods
NEW AUGUST 2017. This is an article entitled ''Transport and the February Floods' which appeared in the British Transport Review Volume 2 No. 4, the issue dated April 1953. It was written by Frank Ferneyhough. There are eleven pages of text, shown in the file as two-page spreads, and two pages of black-and-white photographs including an aerial view of Yarmouth South Town.
It covers an area from Kent up the east coast as far as Lincolnshire. It deals with happenings on that night at the end of January and how the consequences were dealt with. The main emphasis is on the railways, but British Road Services and bus companies including Eastern Counties and Eastern National are mentioned too.
