RE035 Hump Yards and their Equipment

  • RE035 Hump Yards and their Equipment

NEW FEBRUARY 2016. This was a brouchure for prospective customers who were considering installing a hump yard. It gives details appropriate for a technical non-specialist. Thus for retarders it goes into a description and drawings to show how they work, describes the options for their control and explains how they would be installed - a less straightforward exercise than might be expected.

The document is undated but was probably from the late 1940s. Topics discussed include the overall layout of such a yard, retarders, point control, control desks, track circuits, hump signals and power plant requirements. There are several photographs, and the file is word-searchable.

This file will be available to download as soon as payment has been made. You go to your account and click on ‘Downloads’. New customers create an account as they place their order.
