RE024 BR Electrification Proposals 1978 and 1979
NEW MAY 2012. 29 pages fitted two to an A4 view. The first 20 pages come from a British Railways Board discussion paper of 1978 complete with figures, graphs and charts. These are followed by a further 9 pages giving a summary of the Interim Report of the Joint Review of Mainline Electrification, dated winter 1979; this includes figures, photographs and a map showing two extreme possibilities for lines to be electrified - a maximum extent and a minimum extent (which they advocate). Strangely their proposal implies that the whole of the East Coast main line should be electrified from Aberdeen to Hitchin but apparently not the final bit into Kings Cross!
