RC059: LNER and LPTB Ticketing Instructions for Leyton, 1947.
NEW MARCH 2022. On 5 May 1947 London Transport's Central Line services were extended to Leytonstone. That inevitably led to changes in ticketing arrangements at the stations involved, and this file is entitled 'Instructions to Ticket Office and Collection Staff at Leyton in connection with extension of L.P.T.B. (Central Line) Trains to Leyton and Leytonstone (L.N.E.R.) from Monday 5th May 1947'. It is a 15-page document produced jointly by the LNER and the LPTB, entirely in typescript with no illustrations.
Brian Pask has written an explanatory introduction which is added at the beginning. The sections include topics such as the issue of weekly and season tickets; cloakroom arrangements and charges; examining, cancelling and collecting tickets; charging excess fares; disposing of lost property; and, of course, the accounting required.
The file is word-searchable and is provided with bookmarks. It will be available to download as soon as payment has been made. You go to your account and click on ‘Downloads’. New customers create an account as they place their order.?
