2015 Half Yearly Meeting

 

The next HALF YEARLY MEETING of the GERS will be held on Saturday 17th October 2015, in the King’s Centre, 63 – 75 King Street, Norwich NR1 1PH

The planned programme is as follows:

09.00 Hall opens for setting up.

10.00 Meeting opens. Time to purchase your raffle tickets, GERS sales items, second hand magazines/ books/ videos etc.

10.55 Chairman opens meeting.

11.00 Presentation by Dave King, Curator of the NNR’s William Marriott Museum entitled ‘Little Black Goods’.

12.00 Lunch break. Sales stands open, Buy your raffle tickets.

13.15 Society announcements then presentation of the 2014 Harry Jones Award.

13.30 Presentation by John Stark who is the MSLR Museum Vice-chairman and Station Master.

14.30 Refreshment Break.

14.50 Raffle draw.

15.00 Talk by Andrew Barnes who is the Bure Valley Railway’s Director and General Manager entitled ‘The Bure Valley Railway, its past, present and future’.

16.00 Final circulation and clearing up.

From Norwich Station it takes 10 minutes to walk to the venue. From the station head towards the City Centre along Prince of Wales Road. Turn left into Rose Lane then left into Mountergate and walk to the end of the road. Turn right into King Street.

BY CAR : There is a Pay & Display Car Park (Rose Lane) which is entered from Mountergate. £4.90 all day and is three minutes walk from the venue.. You can use one of the six Park & Ride Bus routes to travel into the City Centre, then walk to King Street. See www.parkandride.net/norwich.

Members bringing sale items/ equipment etc can unload outside the front door of The King’s Centre and then move to the Car Park.

Engineering Work. Nothing is planned for East Anglia.
